ABOUT TOM BELLONI

I've been a working artist for more than 50 years, with work shown throughout California, Arizona, Oklahoma, and other arts centers in the U.S. Starting as a representational painter (with surfing and ocean scenes that were featured throughout the Chart House restaurant chain for many years), I soon began creating the contemporary, sleekly abstract, mixed-media wall sculpture that I've been doing now for most of my career.

Using a proprietary process that I developed based on my early experience working on surfboards in Southern California, I create mixed-media wall sculpture ranging in size from small 24-inch rounds and rectangles to sculpted indoor and outdoor wall pieces as large as 6 by 11 feet

  • My Polished Resin work layers carved wooden panels that I coat with color-infused and polished resin with carved burnished metal shapes and interleaved copper wire.

  • My Textured work layers and stacks acrylic-painted wooden or textured foam panels with metal panels and rods.

Every summer for the past 50+ years, I've participated in the Sawdust Arts Festival in Laguna Beach, CA,
where my family and I have lived for many years.
Since setting up a separate studio in the Phoenix, AZ area, I've shown my work in the rigorously-juried, 10-week winter Celebration of Fine Arts and Art Expo tent shows in Scottsdale, AZ. A long-time member of the Sonoran Arts League, I participate in the annual Hidden in the Hills Studio Tour in Cave Creek, AZ every November. From October through April, I show regularly in the juried outdoor Fine Art Festivals put on by Thunderbird Artists and Vermilion Promotions in Carefree, Cave Creek, Litchfield Park, and Scottsdale, AZ. I also participate in well-renowned winter outdoor Art Festivals in Indio and Indian Wells, CA.
